Richard H. LoveWoman with Tricycle, Date UnknownOil on Canvas60 x 70 InchesUnsigned
This a huge canvas... it should be, because I painted it with huge plans. The picture tells the story of a lovely young woman who didn’t know right from wrong. She flirted with available bachelors until everyone in their social circle thought bad things about her. The accusations were not true, but she suffered badly from the rumors. One bright summer day she went back home to the abandoned old farm-house where she was born. There, under the porch, she found her childhood tricycle which brought back warm memories of the hours she spent playing with her younger brother. But the ring of colors is a circle of fire that burns in her mind, while the bird is the one secret dream which she protected from intruders as a little girl believing that it would pick her up and carry her off to a secret place. The butterfly is her friend from heaven whose love for her has no limits. In this image she is attempting to find the warmth of life she once knew. The painting is in excellent condition but it has no frame.
