Sari was originally born in Nigeria. She lost her own mother who was attempting to keep her from harm's way when, instead, she watched her as she was being assaulted in an alley on the Southside of Chicago. Sari grew up with the love and care of a relative in Wisconsin who saw to it that she received high grades in all facets of her training as as a psychologist. After 5 years in that capacity, she had her mother's story published and it was extended and rewritten into a movie which was quite successful in theaters outside of the US. Sari became wealthy and had her own happy children whose father was from the south side of Chicago.

Jenny was the nick-name that my neighbor attached to the woman who lived down the road from our houses. All of us were farmers and she did her best, but it was very difficult as a single mother. The kids all pitched in to help her. All of them except little Rosco who had a clubbed foot. The whole family was supported by all of us neighbors. But life was difficult during the hard times of the late Depression years. When I became an adult all of Jenny’s brood had left her. She was an old woman with gray hair then and she died alone in that old house down the road.

One bright shiny day, when my wife and I were in Spain, we came across this farmer. He was one of the happiest men I have ever known. In his crudely made saddle bags was a clay water jug. He offered it to me for about a dollar and a half, an amount I could afford. That was 55 years ago. Today his place in life will be established for everyone to see.

Excitement fills the air and people blessed with youth display their nearly nude bodies and classic Hollywood-style faces for all the world to see and admire. "Could I be one of those beauties?" I have thought... but then my imagination dissolved because I knew I'd never be what they are… and then I asked myself or maybe I asked them: "Oh pray tell us why you want the world's population to see you in a video or, better yet, in a video with injected music. For all the rest of may show as clearly as your life does now.... is it really that good? Tall or short, big or small, Holywood pretends to give it all… even as you pretend to be, indelible marks are on your forehead and the viewers can think as they wish.

Henry was born in 1899 in a farm house near Momence, Illinois. He never moved away from the area. And as an adult he always lived alone. He cherished his kitchen table because he ate there, read the paper and "Prairie Farmer" there, fed his dog (a retriever named Fido) and tinkered with small watches. He was an avid reader of mystery novels and he enjoyed listening to the "Fibber McGee and Molly" comedy show on radio every Saturday night and the weather report on WLS, Chicago's "Barn Dance" station. Sitting in his long-johns at the kitchen table every morning by 5am, Henry let his dog out and took a few breaths of fresh air. Back inside, he made a cup of piping hot instant coffee and lit another cigarette with an Ohio Blue tip match. Having gathered up a few things such as keys, cigarettes, a gold Hamilton Railroad watch which he kept in the bib pocket of his overalls, Henry left his dog some dried food and fresh water. Then he opened the hood of his 10-plus year old 1932 Ford Roadster just to make sure the radiator water was OK and that he saw no oil leaks. On cold days he started it and let it warm up. Then he drove three and a half miles to the huge grain elevator where he worked part time. On other days he worked for local farmers as a so-called “hired hand.” Henry was engaged once in the late l920's but his fiancé went to the city to work and never came back home. Henry never again dated and never married.
